The Galaxy S25 Edge is Samsung’s newest phone. It’s very thin, but there’s more to it than just looks. It feels like a mix of the S25+ and the S25 Ultra. It has the Ultra’s titanium frame and top camera but keeps the simpler design of the S25+. The big twist? It’s even thinner than both.
I was perplexed when I initially learnt that Samsung was reviving the Edge name. Years ago, many phone makers tried to make devices thinner. However, that came with drawbacks including poor battery life and heating concerns. Why go back to that?
Now I see why. After phones got 5G, they needed more space for antennas and power. But over time, tech parts got smaller again. That opened the door for slim phones to return.
More than that, this phone isn’t just about being thin. Samsung wants to make the middle model in the S25 family more exciting. And I think they mostly got it right.
Design: Slim but Strong
Let’s start with the design. The S25 Edge is only 5.8mm thick. That’s about 0.23 inches. It feels light, sleek, and stylish. But it’s also tough. Samsung didn’t give up strength to get this slim look.
The phone has a titanium frame and is water and dust resistant (IP68 rated). The robust Gorilla Glass Ceramic protects the screen. The display isn’t matte like the Ultra’s. It’s glossy. Samsung says adding a matte layer would have made it thicker, so they skipped it.
This shows Samsung was serious about keeping it slim. And it paid off. The phone feels smooth and elegant in hand. It’s light too—only 163 grams. That’s less than the S25+.

Display: Bright and Sharp
The S25 Edge has a 6.7-inch OLED display. It’s the same size and type as the one on the S25+. It’s bright, sharp, and colorful. The 120Hz refresh rate makes scrolling and swiping smooth.
Even though it’s slim, the Edge still looks and feels premium. Watching videos and playing games on it is a great experience. The screen shines in all lighting, and the color quality is excellent.
Performance: Fast and Cool
Inside, the phone runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chip. It comes with either 256GB or 512GB of storage and 12GB of RAM.
It handles everything you throw at it. Games run well. Apps open fast. You can switch between tasks easily.
There’s even a vapor chamber inside to keep it cool. Despite the thin body, it doesn’t get hot. It stays cool even during heavy use.
Camera: Big Sensor, No Zoom
The S25 Ultra's 200MP primary camera is transferred to the Edge. That’s a big deal. It also has a 12MP ultra-wide lens. But it doesn’t have a telephoto (zoom) camera.
At first, this might seem like a big loss. But the high resolution makes up for it. You can crop your photos without losing much detail—if you use the full 200MP setting. The default mode is 12MP, so remember to change it when needed.
The front camera is also slightly different. It’s a 12MP wide-angle selfie cam. It captures more people in one shot. That’s great for group photos.
Picture quality is very good. Colors are rich. Images are sharp. It still has Samsung’s usual warm tone, but the results are pleasing.
Low-light photos are solid too. For this review, I compared it to the Motorola Razr Ultra. The S25 Edge won easily. Its photos were brighter, sharper, and better exposed. If you care about photo quality but want a slim phone, this one delivers.

Battery Life: The Trade-Off
Here’s where the S25 Edge takes a hit. Because it’s so thin, it has the smallest battery in the S25 lineup—only 3,900mAh. That’s 100mAh less than the base S25.
In a video playback test, it lasted just under 26 hours. That’s okay but not great. The S25 Ultra lasted over 29 hours. The base S25 lasted 28 hours.
So, if battery life matters most to you, this may be a concern.
It supports 15W wireless charging, which is decent. Wired charging is limited to 25W. That’s pretty standard but not fast by today’s top phone standards.
Another thing to note is Qi2 support. The Edge is “Qi2 ready” but doesn’t have built-in magnets. To use magnetic wireless chargers, you’ll need a case or a magnetic add-on.
Price and Value
The Galaxy S25 Edge starts at $1,100. That’s the same as the S25+. But it gives you more premium parts. You receive the high-end camera and titanium frame of the Ultra.
Yes, the zoom lens is gone, and the battery life is reduced. But it feels like a better deal than the S25+. It brings new style and offers features that make it stand out in the middle of the lineup.
Who Is It For?
The S25 Edge is for people who want something fresh. It’s stylish, light, and powerful. If you don’t care much about zoom photos or super long battery life, this phone fits well.
It’s also great if you want a flagship phone without going for the big and heavy Ultra.
Final Thoughts
At first, I didn’t get why Samsung made this phone. Do we really need thinner phones in 2025?
But now, I see it clearly. Samsung used this design to make its middle-tier S25 phone more exciting. Instead of being just a larger base model, the S25 Edge has a strong identity.
It’s thin but tough. Fast but cool. Stylish but not flashy. It takes great photos, looks premium, and runs well.
The battery life isn’t the best. The lack of zoom might bother some people. But overall, it’s a solid phone.
If you want a high-end phone that feels different without going too far, the S25 Edge might be perfect for you.
